Kia Ora Koutou favourite for Perth Cup

Wednesday 28 December 2016, 10:39am

Perth Cup favourite Kia Ora Koutou will start from barrier eight in the Group Two race with his main danger Perfect Reflection to start from six.

To be ridden by Joseph Azzopardi, Kia Ora Koutu is the TAB's $3.20 favourite ahead of Perfect Reflection, a $4.20 chance who will have William Pike as her pilot in Saturday's 2400m-feature.

Kia Ora Koutou finished third behind Tarzino and Etymology in the 2015 Victoria Derby (2500m) and claimed his first win in more than a year in the Listed JRA Trophy (2200m) earlier this month.

Perfect Reflection also goes to the Cup on a winning note, taking out the Group Two Ted Van Heemst Stakes (2100m) on December 17 after Group One minor placings in the Railway Stakes and Kingston Town Stakes.
