Apprentice Magorrian extends Sydney stay

Friday 23 December 2016, 4:42pm

NZ apprentice Lee Magorrian's two-week stint with leading trainer Chris Waller has translated to a three-month stay in Sydney.

Originally from Ireland, Magorrian won the Northern Racing Apprentice Scholarship at the Auckland Apprentice School Awards for last season.

Among previous recipients of the award is Jason Collett who also gained an extended stay with Waller and is now established in the top 10 Sydney jockeys.

Magorrian's indentures have been transferred from Shaun Clotworthy to Waller until March 20 next year.

He has five scheduled rides at Rosehill on Saturday and four at Randwick on Monday.
