Guy duo a danger to Realing's Millions

A two-pronged assault from the Bryan-Dan Guy training partnership is the main stumbling block to Realing qualifying for the Magic Millions Guineas.

Realing is currently No. 37 on the list of qualifiers but a win in Saturday's Three-Year-Old (1615m) at Doomben would lift him to No. 17 to get a run in the $2 million Guineas on January14.

Several of the runners above him for the Guineas are likely to drop out or target other races on the $10 million race day.

Trainer Matt Dunn has a big opinion of Realing who has won his past two starts and already collected $87,500.

However, $35,000 of that is in QTIS bonus payments which do not count towards the Magic Millions qualifying order.

"He does show a lot of promise and we will just have to see if he can get into the Guineas," Dunn said.

The Guys have Eastern Parade and Good Luck Malela in the Doomben race and both have been racing well.

Eastern Parade was beaten a half head by Realing in a Doomben maiden two starts back and meets the him three kilograms better.

"Our horse was one run short that day. Eastern Parade came out at his next start and won another Doomben maiden by a big space," Daniel Guy said.

"Michael Rodd rode Eastern Parade and was impressed by him. Eastern Parade has obviously improved and is out to a suitable 1600 metres now."

Eastern Parade is a Millions Guineas entry but at 100 on the qualifiers list would need a lot of luck to make the field.

Rodd also rode Good Luck Malela at his last start when he was sixth behind Realing at Eagle Farm two weeks ago.

"Michael said Good Luck Malela should have finished a lot closer after striking some trouble in the straight," Guy said.
