Rebecca Black's funeral at Gore racecourse

Monday 19 December 2016, 4:08pm

The funeral service for jockey Rebecca Black will be held at the Gore Racecourse where she died in a fall.

Black died when her horse appeared to knuckle over in a race and she fell at the 700m mark on Sunday.

She will be remembered at Friday's service while NZ Thoroughbred Racing has begun collecting money on behalf of Gallop South which is in the process of setting up a formal trust for Black's three children, two of whom were at the track when she died.

Black rode 108 winners during her career and was a well liked member of the southern racing community.

Racing Integrity Unit stipendiary stewards have adjourned an inquiry into the incident.
