Sea Sharp looking to win two on the trot

Friday 25 November 2016, 2:50pm

Sea Sharp is set to run in Race 5 at Canterbury tonight for trainer Tim Martin, with jockey Nick Heywood in the saddle.

It was great to see him win first up on 12th November at Kembla Grange over an unsuitable trip and without a trial. “I am sure there will be plenty of improvement to come as he steps up in distance. I think we are in for a good preparation,” said David Mourad, Blueblood’s Racing Manager.

Young Claire Nutman rode him perfectly at Kembla Grange and did well to keep him off the fence and out of trouble, giving him free passage in the run home. He really hit the line strong late and got his head down just in the right time for the win.

Sea Sharp’s current race record is 2 wins from 9 starts with prizemoney of over $43,000.00.

Sea Sharp is quite fresh in between runs as Tim Martin didn’t do a lot with him since his win. “He is nice and bright and happy. Whatever he does tonight there is plenty of improvement to come. He has drawn well in barrier 1 and should run a good race. He’s got a 3kg claim with Nick Heywood on board and he should be pretty positive from the barrier,” comments Tim Martin.

Good luck to all the connections!
