Damian Lane to ride in Hong Kong again

Sunday 20 November 2016, 2:34pm

Melbourne jockey Damian Lane will continue his travels when he rides in Hong Kong for two weeks including the showcase International meeting at Sha Tin.

Lane travelled to his home state, Western Australia, on Saturday and won the Group Two WA Guineas in Perth on Variation.

He missed out on a ride in the Group One Railway Stakes when his mount Rageese was scratched with a foot abscess.

Lane rode five winners in Hong Kong during a short stay during 2014/15.

He has been recruited by the Hong Kong Jockey Club which is experiencing a shortage of lightweight riders after injuries to Umberto Rispoli and Jack Wong and a suspension for Chad Schofield.

Lane was originally going over to ride on November 27 but has now extended that to December 11, the date of Hong Kong's biggest meeting of the year.
