Sam Clipperton extends stay in Hong Kong

Wednesday 2 November 2016, 11:56am

Sydney jockey Sam Clipperton will stay on in Hong Kong with his licence to ride there extended until the end of the season.

Clipperton, who won Group One races on Peeping and English during Sydney's autumn carnival, initially had a three-month contract which was due to end in December but he has been granted an extension by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Since arriving in the Asian racing capital Clipperton has ridden seven winners and can improve that record with six rides at Sha Tin on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, New Zealand rider Opie Bosson will return home following an unsuccessful stint in Hong Kong with the club allowing him to end his contract on November 24.
