Lucia Valentina out for the rest of spring

Lucia Valentina will take no further part in the spring carnival with the Kris Lees-trained mare ruled out with a leg injury.

Lees Racing tweeted on Monday the triple Group One winner had inflammation in an offside leg and her preparation was over.

Lucia Valentina, seventh in the Cox Plate behind Winx, had been expected to be one of the major players in Saturday's Group One Emirates Stakes (2000m) at Flemington.
