Samantha Clenton injured at Scone

Friday 14 October 2016, 6:10pm

Apprentice Samantha Clenton has been flown to hospital with a suspected shoulder injury suffered in a fall at Scone.

Clenton, who was also complaining of chest pain after Friday's fall, was flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle with her father by her side.

She only returned to race riding last month after being injured in a multiple horse fall at Taree in May.

Clenton had been booked to ride Howmuchdoyouloveme in the Listed City Tattersalls Lightning at Randwick on Saturday.

The last race at Scone had to be abandoned because of insufficient daylight remaining after the helicopter arrived to take Clenton to hospital.
