Vancouver to stand in America

Friday 14 October 2016, 3:33pm

Vancouver will stand the northern hemisphere season in America when he finishes his first Australian season

The 2015 Golden Slipper winner will stand at Coolmore's Ashford Stud in Kentucky.

"I saw Vancouver in Australia last week and he's an exceptionally good-looking individual who should sire both racehorses and sales horses. I think US breeders will be very impressed when they see him," Ashford manager Dermot Ryan said.

"He's by a very good sire in Medaglia d'Oro and is proving extremely fertile with nearly 50 mares already scanned in foal."

By Medaglia D'Oro out of Skates, a Danehill daughter of 1993 Doncaster Handicap winner Skating, Vancouver was unbeaten in four starts as a two-year-old.

He suffered only defeat at what would turn out to his final start in the San Domenico Stakes.
