Wet weather forces more meeting transfers

Wednesday 14 September 2016, 4:59pm

Cranbourne is the latest turf meeting to be transferred to the Pakenham synthetic track.

Thursday's meeting was transferred on Wednesday following a Racing Victoria stewards inspection.

Stewards were of the opinion the track would not be suitable for racing as more rain is expected on top of 46mm in the past seven days of which 14mm has fallen in the past 24 hours.

Pakenham hosted the Bendigo meeting on Wednesday and will also take on transferred meetings from Kyneton on Saturday and Ballarat on Sunday.

The Hamilton meeting on Monday has been transferred to Casterton after Hamilton received 129mm in the past week, 31mm in the last 24 hours.

Casterton had their meeting abandoned on Sunday after rain flooded surrounding areas but roads around the town are expected to be accessable again by the weekend.
