Wet weather causes transfer of meetings

Tuesday 13 September 2016, 3:32pm

Wet weather in Victoria has forced the transfer of a number of meetings to the synthetic tracks at Pakenham and Geelong.

Pakenham will host Wednesday's Bendigo meeting after the track was deemed unsuitable for racing following a stewards inspection on Tuesday.

Bendigo received 27mm of rain on Tuesday morning, bringing the total to 55mm in the past seven days.

The transfer of Wednesday's meeting to Pakenham means the synthetic track will host three meetings in five days.

Kyneton's meeting on Saturday and the Ballarat meeting on Sunday had already been transferred.

Geelong's turf meeting on Friday has been switched to the synthetic track.

Friday's feature race, the Gold Nugget, moved from Ballarat to Geelong, will now be run on the turf at Caulfield on Saturday, making it a 10-race card.
