Lucia Valentina works home in trial

Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Lucia Valentina has worked home strongly in a barrier trial at Wyong ahead of her next Group One assignment.

The Kris Lees-trained mare was taken to the back of the field early in Tuesday's 1200 metre trial and made ground steadily wide on the track.

She finished just behind the placegetters in the heat won by Harry Hotspur and showed she was on target for the Underwood Stakes at Caulfield later this month.
