Order Of St George entered for Ascot

Former Melbourne Cup favourite Order Of St George is among 14 contenders for the British Champions Long Distance Cup at Ascot.

Part-owned by Australian Lloyd Williams, Order Of St George ran third in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe as part of an Aidan O'Brien-trained trifecta.

He will step up from 2400 metres to 3200 on Saturday in the Group Two race which also features Quest For More who ran ninth in last year's Melbourne Cup.

Trip To Paris, fourth in the 2015 Melbourne Cup, is also among the enrtries.

Williams pulled the pin on a trip to Australia after Order Of St George was given top weight of 58kg in the Caulfield Cup, an indication of what he would get in the Melbourne Cup.

Arc winner Found is one of 19 entries for the Champion Stakes at the Ascot meeting.
