Racing's next generation of enthusiasts will have a chance to ride the thrills of part-owning a thoroughbred without the risk after forming a unique partnership with Group One prospect Vadashan.

Young Professionals in Racing (YPR) now have a share in Vadashan with Arrowfield Stud, Saeed Naser Al Romaithi, and Renata Coleman.

YPR Chair and founder Kathryn Thomson said in a statement on Tuesday it was an exciting time for the group to have a horse to follow through an autumn campaign.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for young people on the fringe of racing who may be considering racehorse ownership in the future," Thomson said.

"YPR's involvement with Vadashan provides a social and educational alternative to the sometimes daunting responsibilities associated with racehorse ownership, yet enables members to experience all the excitement of racing a horse they feel connected to".

The partnership has been termed a "social racing initiative" with YPR not paying costs or receiving prizemoney but having the opportunity to attend trackwork, and enter in a ballot to experience owner privileges on racedays.

Vadashan strode to victory over 1600 metres at Warwick Farm on Saturday with trainer Paul Messara declaring him an Australian Derby contender.
