Uno Five adds to solid Queensland record

Saturday 13 February 2016, 2:08pm

Trainer Bruce Hill has plenty of reasons to declare stayer Uno Five the most consistent horse he has trained.

Former NSW galloper Uno Five ($4.40) added to his record since being sent to Queensland when he won the Secutor Securities Handicap at Doomben on Saturday.

Since Uno Five joined Gold Coast-based Hill in November he has had nine starts for two wins, four seconds, two thirds and a fourth for $122,000 in prize money.

Hill said there was one key to Uno Five's consistency.

"Uno Five has a dig every time he goes around. I can't remember training a more consistent horse," Hill said.

"He is no champion but you would love a stable full of him."

Uno Five will continue to chase middle-distance races in Brisbane.

Apprentice James Orman scored his 46th metropolitan win for the season to maintain his lead in the jockeys' premiership.

Orman, who is in line to be the first apprentice since Zac Purton in 2003 to win the title, now has 91 overall winners for the season.
