Dylan Dunn has made the most of his two Moonee Valley rides to notch a milestone with a winning double.
After guiding the talented Snoopy to a first-up win, the 21-year-old apprentice added a second for the day aboard Flying Light for his bosses David Hayes and Tom Dabernig.
The double took Dunn's city tally to 20 wins which reduces his claim from 3kg to 2kg and he said it was a great feeling.
"It's been a quiet few weeks. I went away to Thailand to celebrate my 21st and I've come back really refreshed and I think that probably makes a difference in your riding," Dunn said.
"As much as you might lose a bit of momentum, you've got to do it for your right mindset.
"Most kids want to keep their claim as much as they can, but it will make it a lot easier than sitting in the sauna for an extra hour."
Dunn's minimum riding weight is 55kg.
Dabernig said Dunn was riding well and the claim helped on Flying Light in his front-running three-quarter length win in the WT Partnership Handicap (2040m).
"He got the horse to relax underneath him in front and got the job done," Dabernig said.
"If he's getting on the right horses, he's winning on them."
