The step up to middle distance racing is agreeing with Godolphin-owned mare Monogram who has raced to her second-straight city win in Melbourne.
The four-year-old daughter of Medaglia D'oro stepped up to 2040m for the first time three starts ago with a Moonee Valley placing and has since added a convincing midweek city win at Sandown over 2100m before another victory at Moonee Valley on Saturday over 2040m.
Stepping up in class in Saturday's Think Big Stud Handicap for fillies and mares, the John O'Shea-trained Monogram ($4.80) enjoyed a good run just off the leader before sprinting to the front rounding the home bend.
Monogram opened a good break into he straight and had 1-1/4 lengths to spare over Miss Maggiebeel ($16) who closed the race off well, while Defrost My Heart ($14) was another head away third.
"She's improved from last start and it's always been in John's mind to get her out to a trip," Godolphin's Melbourne stable representative David Charles said.
"She looks like she's a young, progressive stayer."
Jockey Craig Williams said Monogram had built her confidence last start and went on with the job.
