Stakes-performed colts Rageese and Holler will take on older horses in the Australia Stakes, each trying to become the first three-year-old since Black Caviar to win the weight-for-age race.
Black Caviar won her first of two Australia Stakes' at Moonee Valley in 2010 while California Dane (2006), Yell (2003) and Royal Code (2002) are other three-year-olds to have won since it was moved to its January timeslot in 2002.
The John O'Shea-trained Holler and Hawkes Racing's Rageese are the only three-year-olds in Saturday's Group Two race.
Holler is no stranger to Moonee Valley having scored a dominant win over the course and distance in a Group Three race against his own age last October.
Rageese, a Group One placegetter as a juvenile, resumes for his first start since finishing fifth in the Caulfield Guineas in the spring.
Holler galloped at Moonee Valley on Tuesday in preparation for his first-up assignment.
Both colts are at single figure odds with Holler at $8 and Rageese $9 in a field of 13 which includes Group One winners Rebel Dane ($3.20 fav), Mourinho ($9.50), Hucklebuck ($8) and Trust In A Gust ($8).
