Comeback apprentice Bridget Grylls will get the chance to break back into the metropolitan winners list and give trainer Kelly Schweida the first leg of a possible treble at Doomben.
Grylls will ride last start Ipswich winner Bagus in Saturday's Quest Breakfast Creek Hcp (1050m) with the filly drawing the inside gate.
The young rider, who is from one of New Zealand's best known racing families, enjoyed instant success when she moved to Brisbane to complete her indentures with Barry Lockwood in 2014.
She finished second on the metropolitan apprentices list and fourth in the senior riders premiership last season with 44 city wins.
However, Grylls broke her wrist when she was thrown from a horse behind the barriers on August 12 and didn't ride again until New Year's day.
"The wrist took longer to heal than expected but it is fine now," she said.
Grylls took the chance to have a European holiday and returned to work refreshed.
Schweida is a big fan of Grylls who rides a lot of trackwork for him at Eagle Farm.
"She is a very good rider and a hard worker," Schweida said.
"I would love to give her a winner but there are a couple in Saturday's race with big wraps on them.
"Tony Gollan's smart horse Just Excel is scratched but I saw Stuart Kendrick's Cougar win a trial and it looks good."
Schweida has two other genuine chances at Doomben with Miss Cover Girl in the Nudgee Quality and Glorious Red in the Girls Day Out Raceday Hcp (1600m).
Miss Cover Girl will go to Sydney for a $175,000 fillies and mares race in a fortnight if she races well on Saturday.
"She hasn't had a lot of luck the way she has been drawn in races of late. She has a tricky barrier again but she is down in class," Schweida said.
