Red Cadeaux to arrive back in Victoria

Friday 25 September 2015, 5:40pm

Three-time runner-up Red Cadeaux is on his way back to Australia for another shot at the Melbourne Cup.

The popular Ed Dunlop-trained Red Cadeaux will be one of 12 horses to arrive in Melbourne on Saturday ahead of his fifth attempt at Australia's richest and most famous race.

Local star Criterion will also be on the flight after campaigning in England during their summer with unplaced finishes in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot and Juddmonte International Stakes at York.

Caulfield and Melbourne Cup joint topweight Snow Sky, Ascot Gold Cup winner Trip To Paris, and Melbourne Cup second favourite Max Dynamite are among the group arriving on Saturday along with three-year-old Singapore sprinter Super One.

They will join two Japanese horses Fame Game and Hokko Brave that arrived last Saturday night to the Werribee Quarantine centre.

Racing Victoria have also confirmed a further 10 horses commenced two weeks pre-export quarantine at Newmarket in England on Thursday.

They include Cox Plate invitees Arod and Gailo Chop, Melbourne Cup hope Big Orange, and the Godolphin-owned horses Sky Hunter, Secret Number and Elhaame.

Trainer Aidan O'Brien placed five horses into quarantine in Ireland on Tuesday - Highland Reel, Order Of St George, Bondi Beach, Kingfisher, and Ol' Man River.
