Noblet hoping for Super result in Prelude

Friday 25 September 2015, 4:03pm

Thousand Guineas aspirations with Super Cash will be put to the test when the lightly raced filly takes on a strong field in the Prelude at Caulfield.

The Andrew Noblet-trained Super Cash resumed from a seven-week let-up in the Listed Cap D'Antibes Stakes (1100m) at Flemington two weeks ago and hit the line well for second behind the unbeaten rising star Petits Filous.

Noblet is keen to see how Super Cash measures up in Saturday's Group Two Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m) against opposition which includes Atlantic Jewel Stakes winner Stay With Me and Group One winner Pasadena Girl.

"I thought her last run was really good, bearing in mind this is a very strong field (on Saturday)," Noblet said.

"It will be interesting how she measures up."

Noblet said Super Cash had thrived since her last start which was her third career outing after a debut win at Sale over Badawiya and a placing at a Geelong city meeting in late July on heavy going before a let-up.

"We've second accepted for the Thousand Guineas, so that's in the plan," Noblet said.

"If we get every chance on Saturday and she's not up to them we might look somewhere else, but I'm pretty confident she'll run well.

Kerrin McEvoy was aboard Super Cash at Flemington and retains the ride with Noblet expecting the filly to enjoy the step up in trip.

"We wanted to see her doing the right work at the right end of the race at Flemington and she was hitting the line really well," he said.
