Pfieffer prays away the rain at Randwick

Friday 18 September 2015, 4:04pm

David Pfieffer admits a forecast for rain may kill off any chance stablemates Atmospherical and Chestnut Road have at Randwick on Saturday.

Both horse are already double-figure odds and trainer David Pfieffer said a rain-affected track would only lessen their prospects.

"I'm hoping the rain doesn't come as they're expecting," Pfieffer said.

Atmospherical is engaged in the Group Two Shorts (1100m) while Chestnut Road will contest the Tab More Than Winning Handicap (1200m).

If the good conditions are good enough for both horses to start, Pfieffer said he was expecting solid performances.

"They're both chances in their own right, but Atmospherical is taking on a very strong field including Terravista," he said.

"I'm expecting Chestnut Road to be a bit sharper tomorrow after the spell, he's working well and looking great.

"He's a big horse that gets over a lot of ground."
