The October long weekend is grand final time for football but still only the halfway mark for many spring carnival contenders.
Chris Waller will have runners in all the big races on Saturday in Sydney and the following day in Melbourne.
The trainer's Epsom Handicap squad is headed by the favourite Winx who will be joined by stablemates Silverball, Flamingo Star and Sadler's Lake.
The other Group One race at Randwick is the Metropolitan Handicap in which Sydney's leading stable will field Opinion, Junoob, Beyond thankful and Beaten Up.
"Hawskpur may also run in the Metropolitan," Waller said.
"We also have Royal Descent in the Epsom but she is more likely to step up to 2000 metres in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington on Sunday.
"We are keeping our options open with her after that whether we step her up to 2400 metres again in the Caulfield Cup.
"We will have three or four runners in the Craven Plate at Randwick.
"After Saturday we will look at which horses go to Melbourne to continue during the carnival down there."
Weights for the Epsom (1600m) will go up four kilograms with many of the handicap leaders taking different paths, putting Winx in Hugh Bowman's comfort zone.
Sydney's premier jockey rode the mare in a leisurely gallop between races at Rosehill on Saturday.
Bowman rode Winx to win the Queensland Oaks earlier this year but James McDonald was aboard when she made a winning return in the Theo Marks Stakes on September 12.
Waller will also have Japonisme and Counter Attack in the Group Two Roman Consul Stakes for three-year-olds.
The trainer has won the race for the past two years with Brazen Beau in 2014 and Zoustar in 2013.
Both colts went on to win the Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington which cemented their careers at stud.
