The Victorian Horse of the Year field has been narrowed to five with the winner to be announced on Sunday night.
Adelaide, Brazen Beau, Dissident, Lankan Rupee and Protectionist are in the running for the award judged on performances on Victorian racecourses through the 2014/15 season.
The winner will join an illustrious group which includes three-time winner Black Caviar, Weekend Hussler and last year's winner Fiorente.
Adelaide gained a nomination following his success in last year's Cox Plate at Moonee Valley at his only start in Victoria while Brazen Beau had four starts, winning two at Group One level - the Coolmore Stud Stakes and Newmarket Handicap while also finishing second in the Lightning Stakes.
Dissident had seven starts in Victoria during the season recording three wins - all at Group One level - while also recording a further second and two thirds.
His only unplaced run came in the Caulfield Stakes in which he bled.
Lankan Rupee was a dual Group One-winner from six starts, which also included two seconds and a third while, Protectionist won the Melbourne Cup from his four starts in Victoria.
Along with the presentation of the Horse of the Year award, the Scobie Breasley Medal for jockey excellence, the Fred Hoysted Medal for training excellence and the Tommy Corrigan Medal for the top jumps jockey will also be announced.
The night will see Damien Oliver, Darren Weir and apprentice Patrick Moloney handed their premiership awards while a number of Victorian Owners and Breeders awards will also be presented.
