Ruby Ride out of action for three months

Sunday 9 August 2015, 12:15pm

Queensland apprentice Ruby Ride will be out for up to three months with a pelvic injury.

Ride was aboard Zippity Zou in the mounting yard at Ipswich on Friday when the horse reared up and fell on her.

She is in Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital where she is in a stable condition.

Chief steward Allan Reardon said doctors had told him Ride had broken her pelvis in two places.

"The doctors are hoping to operate next week so that she can be taken back to her home in Toowoomba," Reardon said.

Ride has been in good form, riding three city winners in recent weeks.
