Rich Enuff progressing well after injury

Tuesday 14 July 2015, 4:13pm

Highly credentialled three-year-old Rich Enuff is gearing up for a return to the racetrack after an injury enforced break.

The Caulfield Guineas runner-up hasn't raced since finishing seventh to Brazen Beau in the Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington last November.

Rich Enuff had his autumn campaign halted after suffering a rare tendon injury in his off-hind leg, around the hock area, in January.

The son of Written Tycoon has been back with trainer Ken Keys around seven weeks, preparing for an elusive Group One victory.

Rich Enuff had his work stepped up on Tuesday morning.

"We did our first bit of work this morning, a little bit of even time and he came off bouncing," Keys told Melbourne Radion station RSN.

Keys said the quick turnaround from his spring campaign to the aborted autumn preparation had come about due to not being allowed to let down properly.

But the enforced break has done the colt wonders with Keys saying he now looks in fabulous order.

Keys will meet with new part-owners Woodside Park to work out a suitable campaign, saying options may include the Group One Memsie Stakes and Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.

Both races are run at Caulfield over 1400m, a track and trip Rich Enuff was successful over last spring.

"The owners have been terrific," Keys said.

"They felt he is a Group One horse and should be given every opportunity to win one, so they've run with it."
