Injured jockey Eddie Creighton's condition has improved markedly with medical staff at Melbourne's Alfred Hospital pleased with his progress.
Creighton suffered a wrist injury and concussion in a fall at Warrnambool on Saturday and was transferred to Melbourne when his condition deteriorated.
On Monday, the Victorian Jockeys' Association issued an upbeat bulletin saying Creighton would have one more scan on Tuesday.
"He is fully conscious, talking. Things seem positive," the VJA said.
Fellow jockey Amy Herrmann, injured in a fall after a hurdle trial at Morphettville last Friday week, was transferred from the ICU to a ward at Royal Adelaide Hospital over the weekend.
Her family is expected to issue a further bulletin on her progress on Tuesday.
