Silent Achiever to be served by Frankel

Friday 26 June 2015, 3:44pm

Silent Achiever is set for an extended stay in England as she embarks on a new phase of her career.

The multiple Group One winner left New Zealand on Tuesday bound for Europe where she will be mated with champion Frankel to southern hemisphere time in September.

The winner of the 2012 New Zealand Derby, the Roger James-trained mare was at her best in the autumn of last year when she won the New Zealand Stakes before completing the Ranvet Stakes-BMW weight-for-age double in Sydney.

Silent Achiever is owned by Kevin Hickman, the principal of boutique stud Valachi Downs in New Zealand.

"We want to breed her to Southern Hemisphere time so she has been under lights to extend the daylight hours for her," Valachi manager Jonathan Scully told NZ Racing Desk.

"She's got a good coat on her and we're looking at an early September cover.

The idea at the moment is for that resulting foal to come home in time and to cover her again up there so she may be away for three years.

Galileo, Dansili and Sea the Stars are stallions that have all been talked about for her."

The winner of 10 of her 36 starts and more than $3.6 million, Silent Achiever was retired after her unplaced run in the Group One Doomben Cup in May.
