Anthony Freedman fined for positive swab

Trainer Anthony Freedman has been fined $5000 after pleading guilty to two charges over a positive swab.

The Freedman-trained Minaj tested positive to dexamethasone, an anti-inflammatory, in a pre-race urine sample at Moonee Valley on October 25.

He was fined $4000 for taking Minaj to Moonee Valley to race with a prohibited substance in its system another $1000 for failing to keep a record of treatment.

Since Minaj's sixth placing, Freedman has formed a training partnership with his brother Lee.
