Andrew Catterall, one of Racing Victoria's main strategists in the on-going TVN saga, has resigned.
Catterall was RV's chief commercial and strategy officer for two years and was one of the driving forces in negotiations for current and future media rights.
However differing views on how to implement the media rights negotiations led to Catterall's resignation.
"The RV Board, Clubs and I share an aspiration for Victorian racing to get the best outcomes on its current media rights negotiations and we have an agreed view on how to commercialise the rights," Catterall said.
"However we have differing views on how to implement and govern the project and for that reason I have today tendered my resignation."
Media rights negotiations will continue under the guidance of a RV director, who will chair a working party, along with representatives from Country Racing Victoria, the Melbourne Racing Club, the Victoria Racing Club and Moonee Valley Racing Club.
Catterall said he was proud of what had been have achieved in the past two years, leaving RV in a strong position across marketing, wagering, strategy, media rights and digital areas.
