Field of 15 for Group One CF Orr Stakes

Wednesday 11 February 2015, 11:40am

Dissident is among a field of 15 acceptors for the weight-for-age CF Orr Stakes as trainer Peter Moody looks to win the race for the fifth time in six years.

Beaten first-up in the Australia Stakes, Dissident has come up with barrier seven at Caulfield on Saturday as he looks to join Typhoon Tracy (2010-11), Black Caviar (2012) and Moment Of Change (2014) as Moody-trained winners of the Orr.

Fellow multiple Group One winner Happy Trails resumes and has drawn wide in barrier 14 while premier Sydney trainer Chris Waller has accepted with Beaten Up and Bagman.

Beaten Up has to contend with the outside barrier, while the David Hayes and Tom Dabernig-trained Spillway has the rails draw.

Hayes and Dabernig will also be represented by Sandown Guineas winner Petrology (barrier 10) who is one of two three-year-olds to tackle the older horses in the 1400-metre race.

The Lee and Anthony Freedman-trained three-year-old Java will face his stiffest test, with the last-start Manfred Stakes winner to begin from gate 13 with Chad Schofield to ride.

The Caulfield meeting features eight Group races on the nine-race card including the Blue Diamond Preludes.
