Herstory didn't make the trip to the Gold Coast for the rich Magic Millions Guineas but the talented filly will chase another city win in Melbourne.

The Peter Moody-trained Herstory was an acceptor for Saturday's Magic Millions Guineas but was scratched on Tuesday.

She is entered for Saturday's Nouvelle Star Handicap at Flemington and apprentice Regan Bayliss believes the filly is capable of making her presence felt again after winning at Sandown last start.

Bayliss will claim 2kg from Herstory's 60kg impost.

"She drew barrier 20 there (at the Gold Coast) and she also drew barrier 13 here (at Flemington) which is not ideal but she's pretty versatile," Bayliss said.

"She's improved again since her last run and even though she's drawn a wide barrier I still think she'll be very hard to beat."

With 20 city wins this season Bayliss is 10 wins clear of his nearest rival in the race for the Melbourne apprentices' premiership.

He said Herstory, one of seven rides on the Flemington card, was a promising horse and the horse he was most looking forward to partnering on Saturday.

Bayliss rode Herstory to win at Sandown on Boxing Day when then filly took up the running and held on to win by a half length.
