A LOOK AT THE CAREER OF JOCKEY CHRIS MUNCE

Aged 45

Five Brisbane premierships: 1989/90 (apprentice), 1991/92, 1994/94, 2010/11 and 2011/12 when he set a record 102 winners in a season

43 Group one wins: Most recent Sizzling TJ Smith Classic 2012

GRAND SLAM:

Melbourne Cup: Jezabeel 1998

Cox Plate: Savabeel 2004

Caulfield Cup: Descarado 2010

Golden Slipper: Prowl 1998, Dance Hero 2004

The only other jockeys to win the grand slam: Jim Cassidy, Damien Oliver, Mick Dittman, Neville Selwood, Pat Hyland and Roy Higgins.

In 2007 sentenced to 30 months jail, reduced to 21, for taking money for tips in Hong Kong. Served his time in Hong Kong and Sydney.

In December 2012, diagnosed with throat cancer. Returned to riding just a few months later after undergoing treatment.
