Danger Close reverts to his pet distance as he bids to bounce straight back to the winner's circle in the Listed Kensington Stakes.

The Jason Warren-trained sprinter stepped up to 1200m in the Listed Christmas Stakes at Sandown on Boxing Day but wasn't able to back up his Listed Christmas Cup (1000m) win from the previous start and finished eighth.

Warren has wasted no time in dropping the gelding back in trip in Saturday's 1000-metre feature at Flemington down the straight.

All four of Danger Close's wins in 2014 came over 1000m, including a victory in April at Flemington at his only start there in a benchmark race.

"I think he's a much better 1000-metre horse," Warren said.

"He pulled a bit hard in the early stages at Sandown last start (over 1200m) and didn't finish the race off as good as he can.

"He also got too far out of his ground."

Canberra-trained sprinter Unanimously is topweight with 60kg among the 17 nominations ahead of stakes winner Hard Stride with 59kg.

Danger Close will carry 56kg and Warren said the sprinter had down well since his last start and expects him to run well.

"He's put on weight. We've had to almost keep the work up to him so he didn't get away on us," Warren said.

Warren also has three-year-old filly Risque Business nominated to make her city debut in Saturday's Nouvelle Star Handicap (1400m) after a convincing maiden win in her first start at Mornington on December 28.

The daughter of Volksraad put 4-1/2-lengths on her rivals in the 1200m fillies and mares maiden on debut.

"I think she's probably a stakes-class filly," Warren said.

"She was there at Mornington for an easy kill, which she had, and she's got better wins in store."

The trainer is also considering starting French import Suspicieuse in the Jezabeel Handicap (1600m) at Flemington.

Suspicieuse is entered for a race on Thursday at Ballarat but has drawn the outside barrier.

"I'm fifty-fifty on running her on Saturday at this stage," Warren said.
