Peace Force after black type at Gosford

Monday 5 January 2015, 1:53pm

Peace Force is already a valuable broodmare prospect and trainer Gerald Ryan is keen to enhance her pedigree page further with a black type win.

To that end, the mare runs in Friday's Listed Belle Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) as she aims to extend her winning streak to four.

By Bernadini, the five-year-old is out of Marrego who is also the dam of multiple Group One winner Eremein.

"Being a half sister to Eremein she already has the pedigree but it would be great to get some black type for her and her owners," Ryan said.

"She is just such a tough mare and she is a winner."

Ryan was the beneficiary when Peace Force's former trainer John O'Shea became Godolphin's head trainer in Australia.

From seven starts for Ryan since September, Peace Force has recorded four wins and two minor placings.

Her most recent victory was over 1550 metres when she fought hard to beat Mamwaazel by a nose.

Mamwaazel is one of three Chris Waller-trained entries for the Belle Of The Turf with Gosh and She's Clean rounding out the trio.

"She's Clean is coming back from Melbourne to run and Mamwaazel will also be there," Waller said.

Former French mare Gosh is also nominated for the Metro Plate (1600m) at Randwick on Saturday.

The winner of three races from 1900 to 2500 metres, Gosh has not raced since her fourth in a Group Three race at Longchamp in May 2014 won by Spritjim.

Singing, who finished just in front of Gosh in that race, went on to run second in a Group Two race behind subsequent Melbourne Cup winner Protectionist and has joined his former German stablemate at Kris Lees Newcastle establishment.

She's Clean is the highest rated of the 12 mares entered for the race in her attempt to recapture her stakes winning form.
