Frequendly shortens for Magic Millions

Thursday 1 January 2015, 12:06pm

Magic Millions bookmakers have reacted swiftly to the impressive return to form of smart two-year-old filly Frequendly.

Frequendly was the original favourite for the Magic Millions Classic on Saturday week but had blown out to $15 after her failure at Doomben on November 22.

But she restored her Gold Coast chances in emphatic style, cruising home in the Magic Millions Plate at Toowoomba on Wednesday night.

Frequendly is now into second second favouritism for the Magic Millions at $6 behind Wicked Intent ($5).

Trainer Les Ross said he would have been happy if Frequendly had finished in the first four placegetters at her first run since a setback.

Top Queensland mare Tinto earned herself a crack at the Sydney autumn carnival with courageous win in the Bernborough Handicap.

Tinto ($4.20) gained her revenge on New Zealand mare Tarloshan ($4) when she won the last leg of the traditional Queensland summer triple crown.

Trainer Rex Lipp said Tinto would have her next start in the Magic Millions Stayers' Cup (1800m) at the Gold Coast.

"She will then have a short break and we will get her ready for the Sydney autumn," he said. "I think she showed again tonight that she is up to the very best class."

Tinto will be aimed at the Group One Coolmore Classic at Rosehill on March 21.
