3rd Feb 2015 - JUST 20% Left- Finished breaking and done a treat - " breaker comments: She is a natural and a proper horse" !!
This filly was a filly that made both Jamie and my lists on the first round and was one we thought could go under the radar but then after discussions with a good
friend of mine who I rate as the very best judge of yearlings in Australia he also recommended her to me as one that people might miss....
From the moment she walked out of her box she seemed to glide through herself and has the most amazing overstep and walk . Her temperament was that of a docile new born and I’m positive if she was by any of the sexy first season sires she would have brought 6 times what we paid. She had clean xrays and is overall just a quality horse. I liked the fact she was a touch refined and not a big gross girl and one of the jockeys
I know well who rides Adebisi suggested to me when we where inspecting her that she was a splitting image of Adebisi . in terms of temperament and a few certain markings she had. She has great length to her, exceptional speed levers in her physical make up, a great attitude , huge power behind, large nostrils and a intelligent eye and also a filly with big ears.
If we look at the pedigree page whilst its not full of black type one thing that does jump off the page is SPEED,SPEED and more SPEED. I love the fact also that it’s a pedigree with multiple horses who were good enough to win multiple times.
The cross with Snippetson x Shovhog is an amazing 100% runners to winners.
Our limit on this filly was $80,000 and I think we brought really well to secure
her for $60,000.
This filly though has a huge extra bonus that the other purchases doesn’t in
the fact that apart from being paid up for Magic Millions , she will be also
eligible to be paid up for the GOLDEN SLIPPER but also will be paid up for BOBS and also QTIS. The Queensland government and breeding industry has
also paid up a huge amount and it will mean this filly will be racing for $66,000
each Saturday- TO THE WINNER. On top of this regular prizemoney the real carrot is in the Magic Millions Series where they will race for some unbelievable prizemoney
The reason for having a girls only syndicate is we think she is a huge chance to make the race and this horse could win the extra $500k on offer if owned solely by women
Having climbed the mountain winning this year’s Melbourne Cup with Protectionist we have decided expand our business and have a real crack at winning some of the money on offer in our 2yo races in Australia
We have long held the view that most of our competitors have adopted a ‘scattered’ approach, only buying horses by stallions that they regard ‘sexy’ and therefore easy to sell. In most cases irrespective of the horses physical attributes etc.
We have taken a different approach and tried to increase our chances of success by looking at, in this case what has been successful in the past when assessing past Magic Millions success stories. Specifically fillies have had a great strike rate, early foals, and in particular natural athletic early runners. This was therefore a priority, as well as buying out of 2yo families in most instances. We have tried to keep the costs to a minimum with our commission for our time, which includes the management of the horse for its entire racing life.
Australian Bloodstock oppose management fees and advertising the yearling shares at your expense. These are costs that we will absorb.
WHY RACE WITH US
• Since inception the business group of horses it owns or manages averages 24.90% runners to winners. No other syndicator is close to the this mark and its for this reason we are the most successful Syndicator in Australasia. In fact most syndicators don’t even advertise their strike rate and you know why that this !!
• Since inception we have averaged a Group Winner or placegetter every single month for a strike rate of 52.3%
• Australian Bloodstock expects and plans for success not hopes for it !
• We don’t charge advertising fees
• We don’t charge management fees
• We don’t charge out our office and admin costs to owners
• Our commissions are nowhere near our competitors
• We Can afford to do all this as we race horses that actually make us money not cost us money
• We spend our own money and invest in all horses offered and hence have a common goal of success
• We never race a horse just for the sake of running it.
• We only want city horses and success and offer a “get out of jail Card” whenever possible on our young horses- where if they don’t cut the mustard then they are traded to Asia
• The communication from our Trainers, Kris Lees and David Payne is second to none
• The average training bill for one of our horses is 30-40% cheaper than most others
• Honesty is a big thing with us- you will also get told exactly how things are shaping up
