When I was up in the Hunter Valley in December doing my inspections for the Gold Coast Magic Millions Sale Mick Talty who runs the famous nursery Edinglassie Stud told me there was a filly he was sure I would like. It was this filly. She is by Sizzling out of a More Than Ready mare named Sweet Talkin Woman I syndicated. He was right. She is a stunning filly. She is very strong, has a great hindquarter and terrific shoulder and great strength through the neck.


I have had great success with the progeny of Sizzling. I admit I missed the mark with a couple but I overall we have had good success with them. The first one I purchased was the Adelaide Magic Millions winner Zizzis who is a ½ sister to Rubisaki.
Currently I have five Sizzlings on my books including the promising 3yo Japery who won on Magic Millions Day at Flemington. As well as him we have a very promising filly named Gaga’s Belle who has won and been placed 2nd in her three starts. We have her full brother Sizzling Sonata and also Rubisaki’s ½ brother Prince Of Tokyo. And we have this filly.


These are the reasons I secured her:


Firstly, she is very athletic and vetted out without any issues. She there is a lot to like about her. She looks like a Snitzel filly which is interesting.


Secondly, I believe that it is probably more important where a horse is reared than who its parents are. This filly was reared at Edinglassie Stud in the Hunter. It is one of our very best studs. I have had great success buying from them having secured the good fillies Savoureux, Shine On Anna and Eramor. To be honest I haven’t purchased too many yearlings from the stud. McCain and Ciao Bicky were both reared at Edinglassie.


Thirdly, the filly comes from a good mare who has had two winners from as many foals. Sweet Talkin Woman comes from a very good family that includes Tavago, the ATC Derby winner. Sweet Talkin Woman is by one of the best broodmare sires to have stood here in More Than Ready. She won six including two in Sydney.


In conclusion, I was always going to secure this filly after I inspected her. I hope you join us in racing her. Patrick Payne has done a remarkable job with the progeny of Sizzling. Let’s hope it continues.
