Description

A very well bred filly by the outstanding Guineas winner and exciting young sire SHOOTING TO WIN and from the already proven producer Curtsey, herself a half sister to 6 winners including the 3 smart stakes-placed runners PARTHIAN, SAMPEAH and HASSLE.

On the racetrack, SHOOTING TO WIN was a true star, winning the stallion-making G1 Caulfield Guineas in a faster time than both Lonhro and Redoute's Choice. By the ill-fated NORTHERN METEOR and from the incredible broodmare Listen Here, Shooting To Win is part of a blueblood family, being a full brother to the outstanding sprinter and now boom stallion prospect DEEP FIELD. As a first season sire, Shooting To Win has only just begun to see a handful of his first 2yo progeny hit the track, but already has had an exciting start to his career, producing a city winner, two city placed runners and the exciting SHOTMAKER, a narrow 2nd on debut in the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude!

From an active family, our filly's dam is the well-related and proven producer Curtsey. Who has produced three to the racetrack so far, including Battle Anthem who has won his past two of his short 7 start career, and also the promising Rothman who won recently, GIVING CURTSEY A 100% RECORD AS A BROODMARE. It's a young, active family who's pedigree will continue to improve in the coming period and gives us an excellent chance of more significant pedigree upgrades.

On type, this filly is nothing short of outstanding. Well sized, neat and correct, she's an excellent mover who was incredibly relaxed throughout the sales process and scored highly on all 3 of our judges cards. She was one that we really wanted, and we were delighted to have secured her at the mark we did.

To be trained by Grant Allard, she'll join our promising Zoffany's Lad at his Gosford stables and looks an excellent opportunity to get into a highly promising young sire and active family for much less than you'd expect to pay. With full 5% shares available at $1,100, she may have fallen through the cracks at the Inglis Classic sale, but don't let her fall through here. Grand Syndicates' fixed fees apply past the commencement date and at $6.60 fixed a day, budgeted to cover all training, vets and management costs, it's a simple and very affordable way to get involved in a nice filly.
