Angland outed at Rosehill for using whip

Saturday 27 June 2015, 5:40pm

Tye Angland will miss the feature Grafton carnival after being suspended for a week for his using his whip instead of riding hands and heels.

Stewards said Angland should have put the whip away when eventual runner-up Electric Tribute began to veer out in the last 50m of Saturday's 2YO Plate at Rosehill.

They said by not doing so, he failed to show enough care towards his fellow riders and deemed his actions careless.

Angland said Electric Tribute had run away from the picture on the infield TV screen.

He will be out from after next Saturday and return on July 12. The Grafton carnival runs over July 8 and 9.
