Description

There is a lot of quality about this horse. He has all of the attributes we look for in a horse; He is strong, very athletic, has a beautiful action and a sweet temperament to match.

He breezed up in the fast time of 11.19s over 200m on a soft 6 rated track! The time of the breeze was severely hampered as the colt suffered a major interference from the horse on its inside which shifted out abruptly causing him to lose balance and ground. He picked himself back up though, levelled out and stormed home with a beautiful, long striding action, really wanting to stretch right out and find the line. An uninterrupted breeze up would have easily wiped half a second off the clock.

Our colt is out of the unraced mare, BAK DA PRINCESS. This is her 9th foal. She has produced a 100% winning strike rate with 7 foals to race for 7 winners including Gr.1 winner PANDAROSA MISS and the dual stakes winner & Gr.1 placed ECUADOR, both half relations to our colt!

He comes from a black type family including the ultra-impressive Gr.2 winner TE AKAU SHARK, who took the Spring by storm rattling home to record placings in both the Gr.1 Epsom Handicap (2nd) and the Gr.1 Cox Plate (3rd). Here’s a good fact to consider, TE AKAU SHARK was bought from the very same sale as this and breezed up in 11.07s but on a good 4 rated track. He had an uninterrupted breeze up also. Don’t believe me, click the link below to see his breeze up. It just goes to show the potential of what our colt can achieve. And he is chestnut just like Te Akau Shark!

The colt will be trained in Melbourne by one of Victoria’s leading trainers Mick Price, now in a training partnership with young gun Michael Kent Jnr.

Both Mick and Michael were at the Karaka sale and inspected the colt (amongst many others), and they were both very impressed with his physique, conformation, action and temperament. Mick and Michael are strict judges when it comes to selecting horses and very few make their shortlist, so you know this colt is a top specimen when they give him the tick of approval.
