Craig Williams back for Caulfield meeting

Monday 11 August 2014, 6:16pm

The Qatar Bloodstock-owned Caravan Rolls On is one of the horses Craig Williams is booked to partner in the globetrotting jockey's return to Australian racing at Caulfield on Saturday.

Williams completed another Japanese riding stint and also embarked on a working holiday in Europe since he last competed in Australia on April 26 at Morphettville.

Last weekend he captained the Rest Of The World team in the Shergar Cup at Ascot in England, riding a winner in the opening race but the Rest Of The World outfit came in fourth of the four teams in the points standings.

Williams' confirmed rides for Saturday's meeting are the Robert Smerdon-trained filly Empress O'Reilly in the Quezette Stakes, Flash Of Doubt in an 1100m mares' race and import Caravan Rolls On who is nominated to resume in a 1600m handicap.

Williams won the 3200m Sandown Cup at Caulfield on Caravan Rolls On last November in the horse's last start for Peter Chapple-Hyam before he joined Danny O'Brien's team.

The seven-year-old stayer from Sheikh Fahad Al-Thani's Qatar Bloodstock, is nominated to have his first start for O'Brien on Saturday.
