Queen Elizabeth Stakes favourite It's A Dundeel has arrived safely in Sydney to begin his autumn campaign.

The $4.20 favourite to win Sydney's richest race on April 19, It's A Dundeel had an interrupted spring campaign due to a foot abscess and finished eighth as favourite in the Cox Plate after five weeks between races.

The winner of last year's three-year-old triple crown in Sydney culminating in the Australian Derby, It's A Dundeel then finished second to Reliable Man in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

The 2013 Queen Elizabeth carried prize money of $500,000 but is worth $4 million this year as part of the revamped autumn carnival, The Championships.

It's A Dundeel and his handler Emily Murphy flew into Sydney on Monday along with Atlante, a candidate for the $2 million Australian Derby.

The horses will stay at trainer Murray Baker's son Bjorn's stable at Warwick Farm which will be the scene of It's A Dundeel's first-up run in the Group One Chipping Norton Stakes on March 8.

The four-year-old showed his readiness for his race return with a pleasing hit-out over 900m at Cambridge on Friday and is expected to run in a barrier trial in Sydney in the lead-up to the Chipping Norton.

Although he is officially registered as a New Zealander and does all his pre-training across the Tasman, all but one of It's A Dundeel's races has been in Australia.

He won his his only start as a two-year-old at Ellerslie in April 2012 then strung together four wins at his first four starts of the new season including the Group One Spring Champion Stakes.

In September last year, John Messara's Arrowfield Stud announced it would stand It's A Dundeel when he finishes racing, most likely at the end of this season.

Arrowfield subsequently acquired a 30 per cent share in the horse who is by High Chaparral out of Zabeel mare Stareel.
