Walk With Attitude out to bounce back

Tuesday 14 May 2013, 5:30pm

A "terrible" last-start performance ended stakes race plans in Adelaide for Walk With Attitude but the filly could earn a Brisbane trip if she bounces back to form at Flemington on Saturday.

Trainer Darren Weir had been planning on running Walk With Attitude in last Saturday's Listed Proud Miss Stakes at Morphettville but scrapped the idea when the three-year-old beat just two runners home in a 1200m event against her own age and sex at Flemington on May 4.

Walk With Attitude, a Listed winner during last year's Melbourne spring carnival, is nominated for Saturday's Trevor Clarke Handicap (1200m).

"At this stage she's running. She went terrible last start and I don't know why," Weir said.

Weir sent the filly around in a 1000m jumpout at Ballarat on Tuesday and the trainer was "pleased enough" with the hitout.

"She can go better, but it was much better than what she did last start," Weir said.

"If she won on Saturday she might head to Brisbane."

Dual Group One-winning stablemate Platelet, meanwhile, is headed to the paddock after adding the Goodwood last Saturday to her victory in the Robert Sangster Stakes two weeks earlier.

The Flemington meeting features two stakes races with the Listed Straight Six (1200m) for sprinters and the Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes (3200m) for stayers.
