Pierro draws inside barrier for Doncaster

Tuesday 16 April 2013, 11:26am

Star three-year-old Pierro is set to run as a dominant Doncaster Mile favourite after drawing an inside barrier for the $2 million race.

Pierro will jump from gate four in a capacity field of 20 for one of the signature events of Sydney racing.

"I'm more than happy with four," the valuable colt's owner Greg Kolivos said.

"Obviously it's a race where you can win from anywhere but I'll take it."

Mile specialist and topweight Shoot Out has drawn in the middle of the field in barrier 10 while Emirates Stakes winner Happy Trails has gate 14.

Second favourite Norzita has drawn barrier 17 while Guy Walter's in-form mare Appearance has stall 13.
