Wednesday 29 July 2015, 2:21pm

Jockey Damian Lane has taken little time to get back into the winner's circle in Victoria.

Lane made his return to Victorian racing at Wednesday's Cranbourne meeting after a riding stint in Hong Kong, and the jockey notched at winner at his second ride of the day.

The 21-year-old guided the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained Alitaka to win the De Bortoli Wines 3YO Maiden Plate (1200m) by 4-1/4 lengths.

Lane had ridden 80 winners in Victoria for the season before he left for his three-month stint in Hong Kong at the end of March.

He rode five winners in Hong Kong and said it was a great experience and learning curve and improved him as a rider.
