Vancouver heads Golden Rose order of entry

Monday 27 July 2015, 2:25pm

Group One winning two-year-olds Vancouver and Pride Of Dubai head the first order of entry for the $1 million Golden Rose.

The Australian Turf Club released the order of entry on Monday with Gai Waterhouse-trained runners holding two of the top three positions.

Tulloch Lodge's Golden Slipper placegetter English is third in the rankings with the Hawkes Racing pair of Headwater and Lake Geneva, who both trialled strongly at Warwick Farm on Friday, also prominent.

Godolphin has four of the top 20 horses by prize money including stakes winners Ottoman and Tarquin.

The Golden Rose is the first Group One race of the Sydney spring carnival and will be run at Rosehill on September 12.

Vancouver is an early $3.50 favourite to add the three-year-old feature to his Golden Slipper win, ahead of Pride Of Dubai at $8.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Pride Of Dubai is the only juvenile to have won two Group One races this season and shapes as a worthwhile spring rival for the undefeated Vancouver.

Chris Waller's Group One winner Press Statement is on the third line of betting at $11 ahead of a string of $15 chances including English and Melbourne colt Ready For Victory.
