Trainer Desleigh Forster believes well-travelled rider Robbie Fradd can establish himself among the top echelon of Brisbane jockeys in the new season.
Forster and Fradd continued their good recent run of form when Romanarma won at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday and Assertory was successful at Doomben on Sunday.
Fradd has ridden many winners in his native South Africa as well as Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore.
He is best known internationally for his association with Hong Kong Group One stars Electronic Unicorn and Fairy King Prawn.
Fradd moved to Australia last July and his initial stint in Queensland went so slowly he elected to pack his bags for Melbourne.
However, after a few weeks there Fradd came back to Queensland and set about riding winners.
He has had 60 overall winners this season and 22 so far in the metropolitan area.
Forster is a fan of Fradd and plans to use him as much as possible in the new season.
She says the jockey has the racing nous and ability to make a significant impact in Brisbane.
"The good thing about him is that he is a very good judge about how a horse is progressing," Forster said.
"He can tell you when a horse is near a win, whether it needs more ground, if it might go better in blinkers et cetera."
Fradd will ride at the Sunshine Coast on Wednesday before starting an eight-meeting suspension, his second in a month, and is keen to keep out of the stewards' room when he returns.
