Australian Oaks favourite Set Square will further her preparation in a Group Three race at Flemington.
The winner of the VRC Oaks at the track in November, Set Square will have the second start of her campaign in the Matron Stakes (1600m).
The daughter of Reset finished just a long neck behind Sweet And Speedy in The Vanity (1400m) on February 21.
Trainer Ciaron Maher said the filly did not require a lot of racing to have her at her top for the Australian Oaks (2400m) at Randwick on April 11.
He said Set Square was given an easy time following her Flemington outing and had a gallop at Caulfield last Tuesday.
"She had an easy week after her first-up run and had a gallop on the course proper on Tuesday," Maher said.
"She's nice and bright and going along well."
After the Matron Stakes, Set Square will head to Sydney for the Group One Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on March 28, two weeks before the Australian Oaks.
The trainer said he would keep the freshness in Set Square's legs for the Matron Stakes, a race restricted to fillies and mares.
"She'll have a hit-out during the week," Maher said.
"She's a pretty natural stayer so you just keep her fresh and well when she's at these shorter distances."
Set Square won the VRC Oaks victory at just her fourth start.
She graduated from a Ballarat 1600m maiden win at start number two to winning over 2000m at Caulfield before her Oaks success.
Maher is following a similar program through to the Australian Oaks for which she is the $4.60 favourite.
